About Me

My name is Jarvis Frazier and I'm a young investor chasing my dreams like there's no tomorrow. My story is pretty normal really. I was born a raised in a Christian conservative household in Memphis Tennessee, home of Elvis, BBQ, and the blues. So I'm a pretty soulful guy myself and am a musician, playing keyboard and drums as a hobby. I'm happily married to my lovely wife Tiffany and we have an amazing son named Caleb. We currently live in South Florida in the city of Fort Lauderdale, right outside of Miami. How I got to Florida is kinda funny.

Life in Memphis for me was a little different from most. I'm the oldest of five, three boys and one girl, plus my parents adopted an infant daughter when I was 24 years old. So I had to be an older brother and example to my siblings. The pressure and the restrictions just deflated me day in and day out. I couldn't deal and I was ready for a change. Little did I know that a change was gonna come sooner than I thought. In 2010 my grandmother in Oakland Park Florida, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, passed away.

I remember that I was 23, going through a bad relationship, working a job I hated, and facing depression which was affecting my college grades. Now this. Once again, I couldn't deal. I told my family that I wasn't going to the funeral because I had more important things to deal with, so I thought. However, my parents made it very clear that not going was not an option. So I went against my will and was very attitudish. Yes I just made up a word lol! Good thing I went too because I met my wife at my grandmother's funeral if you can believe it. I didn't like her at first, what an idiot I was, but she proved to be unlike any woman I'd ever met.

So that year in July of 2010, on my birthday actually, I moved from Tennessee to South Florida. I lived with my grandfather for two years and got my own place in 2013. I also got married in 2013 and started working a finance company in the call center and worked my way up to an underwriter. Fast forward to today, we we're blessed with our first child Caleb in July 2016 and now I'm a daddy and my wife is a stay at home mom. I told my wife shortly after my son was born that I'm tired of working a 9-5. I know that I support us but I miss all of the moments of being a first time dad because of work. I started thinking that I needed a way out.

I started reading 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Steven J. Covey, and that book, along with the loving support of my wife inspired me to start my journey to financial independence. So I kept reading books like Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and then I read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kyosaki, which made me want to invest in real estate. That's exactly what I'm doing now, starting my journey as a 30 year old college dropout real estate investor.

I'm going to share all of my experiences, successes, and failures with you. As I reach my goal of quitting my job in 6 months I also want to inspire and help others to have the courage to do the same. Thank you so much for reading and cheers!
